IT WAS picnic time for teddy bears and children as youngsters from Havercroft Children’s Centre enjoyed lunch with their favourite cuddly toys.

More than 25 children sat alongside their fury companions last Friday at South Hiendley J&I school, on George Street, to eat their picnics.

Centre manager Liz Robinson said all the children had a lovely time.

As well as bringing along their teddy bears, the youngsters were asked to bring along their siblings, parents and grandparents.

They also enjoyed having their faces painted with butterflies and flowers.

Mrs Robinson said: “The picnic was aimed at bringing children together to learn and play as well as encouraging quality family time.”

The centre is holding another teddy bear’s picnic at Havercroft Green, on September 1, from 4pm until 6pm.
