I am pleased to report that the last week was road safety week and it was very successful for all our partner agencies.

Friday and Saturday saw PC Rae working alongside partners and dip sampled 41 vehicles for red diesel. Two were carrying red diesel and were dealt with by customs and excise. Two men were arrested for taking a vehicle without the owners consent and four people were reported for benefit fraud.

PC Blunt and colleagues also conducted assemblies at Hemsworth Arts and Community College regarding road safety and carried out a speed check with pupils on Station Road, Hemsworth.

Operation Matrix (off road bikes) has seized six vehicles in the last month. Further traffic operations will be conducted in Hemsworth in the near future. Well done to everyone concerned for a successful operation.

Officers from ward one attended at a mosque in Wakefield as part of a muslim faith training day. The day was well attended by many of our partners.

Officers attended at an address in Upton where a substantial cannabis farm was located and a man was arrested for possess drugs with intent to supply. This was part of a week-long operation regarding cannabis growing in our area. If anyone has any knowledge of where cannabis is being grown or anyone dealing drugs please contact your local police or Crimestoppers.
