Kinsley Craft Workshop will be able to buy some much-needed new equipment, thanks to the Asda Yorkshire XDC Community Fund.

The group picked up £100 after being chosen as August’s winner of the fund, run in conjunction with the Hemsworth and South Elmsall Express.

The charity operates self help workshops in drawing, painting, carpentry, woodwork and woodturning with the aim of alleviating loneliness and isolation. Around 25 people take part in the workshops every week.

To apply for a donation from the Asda Yorkshire XDC Community Fund, write to Gemma Jimmison explaining a bit about your group and how the money would be used.

Winning groups must be able to get to the Asda Distribution Centre at 10am on the first Monday of the relevant month.

Email gemma.jimmison@ ywng.co.uk or write to: Gemma Jimmison, First Floor, Bullring House, 23 Northgate, Wakeield, WF1 3BJ to apply.
