Gondoliers and reindeers helped celebrate European languages at a special event at Minsthorpe Community College last week.
Staff at the college dressed up to represent different countries to demonstrate the importance of being multi-lingual on the National European Day of Languages.
Principal Ray Henshaw said: “This day shows not only the importance of being able to speak a second or third language but it also illustrates the fact that we are never too old to learn.
“We had quizzes, food tasting from around the world in the form of the Minsthorpe Taste Challenge, other challenges and lessons being taught in a foreign language.
“All involved had a fantastic day and we hope that it inspires students and that they all learnt at least one new word in a foreign language on the day.”
