SCHOOLS are being forced to close due to icy conditions.

Ossett Academy, Netherton J&I, Middlestown J&I, Wakefield Pathways School in Castleford and High Well School in South Hiendley have been affected.

Ossett reopened at 10am and Netherton will reopen at 12 noon today, with lunch provided as normal for pupils.

MIddlestown J&I was closed after a power failure. Wakefield Pathways School will be closed all day.

High Well school will be closed from 12 noon because it is unable to serve lunch.
