A teenage boy suffered serious head injuries after being involved in a collision with a car in Kinsley on Monday evening.

Police were called to the incident outside the Kinsley Hotel on Wakefield Road at 6.13pm.

Police said the teenager was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield suffering from serious head injuries. Officers described his condition on Monday evening as stable but serious.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident.
