Website: As mentioned several times before in this column the council has a website (southhiendleyparish.co.uk). Anyone in the village who is organising an event or activity is quite welcome to have the details (time, date, venue or any other relevant information, along with pictures) published on the site. This can be done by contacting me using the above contact details. This also applies if you wish to have details of your event mentioned in this column. The website can also be used to view the previous month's parish council minutes and parishioners are always welcome to discuss issues at the public forum which is held before every meeting. A breakdown of the council accounts for the past two years can also be viewed on the site

History Research Group: The history of South Hiendley dates back to the last ice age as a place where hunter-gatherers settled. It was situated in an area of ice free tundra below the southern extent of the glacier with an abundance of animals and food. This historical fact is one of many uncovered by members of the newly formed South Hiendley Research Group. If you are interested in joining this group or have any historical information you would like to share or discuss, please contact Mr Geoff Sugden on 01226 712646

Newsletter: The Parish Council newsletter has now been issued and at the time of writing should have been delivered to most of the households in the village. If you have not received a copy yet, please contact a member of the council and ask for one. Details and contact numbers for councillors can be found on the website.
