She’s a wish called Ronda
A CREATIVE woman has taken baking to a new extreme and transformed her kitchen into a food haven Willy Wonka would be proud of.
Ronda Hodgkiss of First Avenue, Upton, is the driving force behind home-based BootiDelicious Bakery – a personalised baking experience.
For the festive season, she came up with a shabby chic gingerbread houses, Christmas tree shaped biscuits with glass like baubles and Santa’s boozy cup cakes – complete with a scrummy concoction of licquors.
The mum-of-two said: “I just like to experiment with flavours and love to see people’s faces when they try my cakes.”
She also creates speciality birthday cakes, and caters for christenings, weddings, and hosts vintage tea parties.
One recent customer even renamed her, A Wish Called Ronda, thanks to her delicious foods.
Along with making the basic vanilla cup cakes, and even these are made with premium vanilla pods flown in from India, she can make any creation that the imagination can conjure up.
Some of her most recent treats include vanilla cupcakes with cookie dough centres, and more unique cake creations, such as a bouquet of cakes and a cake in a jar.
She has even made explicit cup cakes for an 18th birthday party.
Miss Hodgkiss set up her dream business 18 months ago after being made redundant from a job in IT.
She said: “I have always been creative and baking is a way I can do that, so when I lost my job I just thought it’s now or never.
“So I plucked up the courage and followed my dream.”
Prices start from £15 for a box of cupcakes, and from £35 for cakes.
