A SCHOOL has started to take ‘effective action’ after being told it needed to improve by Ofsted.
Ash Grove J&I School in South Elmsall was visited by the education watchdog last month.
The school was told it needed to improve pupils’ achievements after their last inspection in October.
And the inspectors left the school impressed.
Inspector Clive Moss stated in the report: “Senior leaders and governors have begun taking effective action to tackle areas requiring improvements.
“Senior leaders and the headteacher particularity are upbeat and present a confident and clear-sighted picture of the school’s response to the inspection outcomes.
“There is unequivocally a determination to improve, which is expressed sensibly echoed by the governing body, and reflected in the school’s action plans.”
Headteacher Julie Davis said: “We are pleased with the outcome of our visit from Ofsted, who have recognised our determination to improve and the accelerated pace at which we are currently working.
“We look forward to our next visit later in the year when we will be able to further demonstrate the strengths of our school.”
