Pub team to take on TV’s Eggheads

A PUB quiz team will put their knowledge to the test as they take on TV’s Eggheads.

The BBC 2 quiz show, hosted by Dermot Murnaghan, sees members of the public pitted against a group of boffins.

And tonight (Tuesday) The Window Box team from the Boot and Shoe pub in Ackworth will take them on.

The team, which includes Jeff Bedford, founder of Bedford Wallcoverings in Normanton, will be hoping to beat the television challengers and win a £5,000 prize.

Former Normanton Chamber of Trade member Mr Bedford, 68, of Hemsworth said: “Everyone I have seen in Normanton has been talking about the show and it was absolutely fantastic.”

His team mates include Paul Gregory, Tony Senior, Graham Hawcroft and his father David Hawcroft.

Mr Hawcroft, 68, of Hemsworth has chosen to answer questions on history and will be up against Judith Keppel – the first British winner of the £1m prize on ITV’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Eggheads starts at 6pm on BBC 2.
