Police officers raid drugs farm found in house

A DRUGS farm set up at a house in Hemsworth was raided by police.

Officers from the South East neighbourhood police team (NPT) found 48 plants growing inside the home on West Street.

A 47-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with production of cannabis and abstract electricity.

All the plants and the hydroponic system used to grow them were seized and destroyed after the raid with PC Stacey Caddick, PC Phil Burton and PC Alan Tissington.

PC Caddick: “This is the positive action that can be taken, when the local community and the police work together in cracking down on drugs in your area.”

The NPT urged anyone with information about drugs to call 01924 295413.
