Plans for 11 new homes submitted

PLANS to build 11 new homes in Moorthorpe have been submitted to Wakefield Council.

Proposals to construct the three-bedroom houses on land next to Moorthorpe Empire Working Men’s Club, just off Barnsley Road, were submitted at the end of last month and were validated by council bosses this week.

The land, which has not previously been built on, lies between Empire Street, Elm Grove and Allott Close.

A new access road from Barnsley Road round onto Allott Close would also be built if the plans are approved.

The public have until November 16 to submit their views on the application.
