Park design winners

CREATIVE school children will be able to see their artistic designs displayed in Frickley Country Park when they next visit.

Primary school across the Express area took part in the park’s ‘design a disc’ competition which invited pupils to create a design inspired by the wildlife and variety of flowers in the park.

Three winning designs have been placed onto discs and mounted on wooden posts in the park that show visitors the different trails available.

Coun Maureen Cummings will host a presentation to the winners of the competition, run by Wakefield Council, on Monday February 20, at 2pm at the park.

She said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, there were so many deserving entries.”
