New kids holiday club
A MASCOT helped kids to get active at a new school holiday club.
Fitzwilliam Primary School launched the holiday club during half term last week after securing Big Lottery funding.
They have used the cash to get company Provision in to school to host activities with their pupils in the holidays without a charge.
The company’s mascot helped to bring sporting fun to the children, such as hockey and free running.
Headteacher Sue Harrison said: “We have never had a holiday club before so we wanted to set something up as quite a lot of parents work. The children had a really good time, we’ve had a really positive response.”
The school is also running after school clubs with a similar sporting theme as part of the Big Lottery grant and its work with Provision.
And they hope to have the holiday club running on a regular basis during the children’s summer holidays this year.
