Millions for roads

A MULTI million pound plan to resurface more than 75-miles of roads has been announced.

A report to Wakefield Council’s Cabinet meeting next Tuesday sets out plans to spend £4.25m this year, and a further £3m over the next three years.

Coun Denise Jeffery, the council’s deputy leader, said investment in the district’s roads was vital to the local economy

She said: “We are using all the funding available to make sure our roads meet both the everyday needs of our communities and are also maintained for the long-term.”
