A MAN charged with imprisoning a 90-year-old man and attempting to steal cash from him has appeared in court.

Carl Felstead, 30, appeared before Leeds Crown Court today (Wednesday) charged with attempted robbery of a wallet, television, video recorder, keys and cash from Ronald Thorpe on October 21, last year.

He is also charged with false imprisonment of Mr Thorpe, of Kirkbridge Way.

Felstead pleaded not guilty to both charges and was remanded in custody.

The trial is set to start on March 25.
