Jubilee fun day comes to town
Hemsworth Community Fun Day with Jubilee theme. Libby Corcoram draws tombola tickets from Joanne Thompson & Denise Cook
A ROYAL theme was showcased at Hemsworth’s annual Community Fun Day as families turned out in patriotic dress.
More than 100 people attended Saturday’s Jubilee themed event at West End Park.
They tried their luck on the tombola, ate tasty treats from the cake stalls, enjoyed pony rides and hunted for bargains on bric-a-brac stalls.
Children also turned up especially to take part in a special king and queen fancy dress competition.
Eight-year-old Alissa Jackson was crowned the winner.
The event was organised by the Hemsworth and District Partnership,
Around £300 was raised on the day, which goes back in the pot for next year.
Denise Cook, secretary for Hemsworth and District Partnership, said: “People that were there really enjoyed it and had a good day.
“The money goes back into the Hemsworth and District partnership fund which is ring-fenced for next year’s fun day.”
