Hundreds of jobs under threat at NHS Trust
HUNDREDS of jobs are under threat as the Trust that runs Pinderfields Hospital is making £55m of cuts.
At a board meeting yesterday, bosses at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust revealed the cuts as part of a redesign of its services across its three hospitals - in Wakefield, Dewsbury and Pontefract.
The savings programme aims to cut costs by a massive 15 per cent, amounting to 38m in 2010-11.
It will mean slashing the wage bill of the Trust's 7,000-strong workforce by 20m, by the end of March - equivalent to 39m in a full year - with further pay savings of 12m next year.
The Trust has been unable to put a figure on the scale of the job losses but confirmed they have started consulting staff and trade unions.
