Football fan’s dream days out

editorial image

Football fan Lee Womack won a once in a lifetime experience to be an England footballer for two days and meet some of his heroes.

The 33-year-old, from Moortop Drive in Hemsworth, was among 30 people given the chance to play at the new England team headquarters at St George’s Park and run out at Wembley.

As part of the competition run by Vauxhall - England team sponsors - Mr Womack met former England players Gary Neville, Stuart Pearce and Ray Wilkins and referee Howard Webb.

Mr Womack said: “It was a dream come true.

“Running out at Wembley is something I will never forget - it really was two days that every football fan dreams of.”
