Facebook scammer sent to prison

A Facebook scammer from South Kirkby who took thousands of pounds worth of cash with her online wedding shop has been jailed.
Pontefract Magistrates’ Court heard on Wednesday Caroline Oates, 21, formally of Mill Lane, sold items but never sent the goods. When people complained she pretended to be another family member and told the angry customers she had died.
She pleaded guilty to charges of fraud by false representation last month.
Oates was jailed for 26 weeks.
