A NEW fund has been made available to help people with a disability stand for election.

The Government Equalities Office launched the new £2.6m fund to help meet the additional costs that a disabled candidate may face in standing for election, such as extra transport or sign-language interpreters. To check eligibility criteria candidates will need to contact the Home Office.
