Care cost changes

COUNCIL bosses are seeking the public’s views on proposed increases in the cost of social care services.

Wakefield Council could increase charges from this summer as it works to save money.

Coun Pat Garbutt, cabinet member for adults and health, said: “We have no choice but to continue to reduce spending and consider charging for services that may have been previously free.

“I urge everyone to look at the proposed changes and have your say on the consultation, we need your views to help us make these difficult decisions.”

An online consultation on www.wakefield.gov.uk closes on February 20. For more information contact 01924 307416.
