A DRIVER had to be cut free from their car after a caravan broke free and collided into it last night (Monday)

Firefighters from South Elmsall and Hemsworth were called to the incident at around 6.15pm outside the Asda supermarket, on Barnsley Road, Moorthorpe.

Firefighters believe the caravan became unhinged from the vehicle that was towing it, and then veered across the road hitting a Toyota Yaris.

The driver of the Yaris had to be cut out from the vehicle and was taken to hospital with suspected neck injuries.
