Breaking news: Cockeral ban to remain in Hemsworth

A controversial decision to ban cockerels from a Hemsworth allotment will remain despite a lively public meeting last night (Wednesday).

More than 100 members of the public turned up at the special meeting held at Hemsworth Town Council Community Centre opposing the council’s decision to ban cockerels from the Grove Lane site.

Seven councillors voted to keep the ban in place, while four voted against the decision.
