AN INQUEST has opened into the death of an Ackworth man who died after crashing an off-road motorbike into a metal railing on a football field.

Martin Hoyle, 35, who lived with his parents on Chapel Garth, died after the smash at Hemsworth Miners Welfare FC ground on Saturday, October 20.

Wakefield Coroners’ heard how Mr Hoyle was taken to Pinderfields Hospital suffering from abdominal injuries and breathing difficulties.

He underwent surgery but died in the operating theatre.
