Talented youngsters are dancing their way to France with the help of £100 from the Asda XDC Community Fund, run in conjunction with the Express.
The Sugar Kanes School of Dance will be taking 25 children to perform at Disneyland Paris on July 25. The children and their parents have to pay for the cost of the trip - but the South Elmsall dance school wants to take part in a dance workshop with the Disney team at an extra cost of £700.
The group picked up the cash, which will go towards the workshop, last Monday.
Lisa Hickin, trip fundraiser, said: “Some of these children have danced since they were three and it is their dream to work for Disney in the future. This is the ideal opportunity for them to get a feel for the whole Disney process.”
The school has also received support from other local businesses and charities to help pay for costumes, dancing props and shoes needed for the trip, which will see the children dance in a theatre in the park.
The Asda XDC Community Fund will give £100 to a different group every month in 2014. To apply, email gemma.jimmison@ ywng.co.uk or write to Gemma Jimmison, First Floor, Bullring House, 23 Northgate, Wakefield WF1 3BJ.
