A woman had to be cut free from a car after an accident in Pontefract town centre.
Police and fire crews from Pontefract and Castleford were called to a collision between a Renault Megane and a Nissan Juke at the junction of Jubilee Way and Cornmarket at around 1.20pm this afternoon (Monday).
Ian Stead, station manager at Pontefract, said: “One woman who was in the front passenger seat of one of the vehicles had to be cut free by the fire service.
“The roof of the car was taken off and she was taken to hospital by ambulance.”
The road has now fully re-opened.
