The Express is helping you to keep your children busy during the summer holidays. Here is today’s guide to what’s going on around the district.

Tuesday, August 26

Craft sessions from 1pm until 4pm at Nostell Priory

Pet workshop from 2pm at Pets at Home Wakefield

Children’s corner with books, games and dressing up from 9am until 4pm at Chantry Chapel Wakefield

Summer play scheme from 9.30am until 3.30pm at SESKU Academy, Burntwood Community Centre, South Kirkby (children aged eight to 14)

Plaster props workshop from 11am until 4pm at The Hepworth Wakefield

Pit ponies workshops at the National Coal Mining Museum

Mythical maze stories and crafts from 2pm until 3.30pm at Hemsworth Library (children aged five to 11, booking needed) and from 10.30am until noon at Pontefract Library (children aged five to 11, booking needed)

Under five storytime from 1.30pm until 2.30pm at Wakefield Library
