South Elmsall Town Council has accepted an offer of £118,000 for Weston Hall, it was revealed at the council’s meeting Monday.
The Westfield Lane building was priced at offers over £150,000.
Coun Bryan Capstick, deputy leader of the town council, said: “If anyone went into the hall now who remembers how it was in the 1960s, they would see it’s exactly the same.
“The layout is the same as when it was a doctors and quite frankly it’s too small to be fit for purpose.”
A council spokesperson said: “ The council has received an offer although the person who has submitted the offer is still to get his finance in place.”
At the meeting it was said that the purchaser plans to convert the building into a multi-purpose gymnasium and one dwelling, subject to planning permission.
