Teenager Zach France has taken part in a sponsored skydive to raise money for charity.

The 18-year-old from South Kirkby completed the jump on Saturday, April 26. He was raising funds for Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice in memory of his girlfriend’s dad, Paul James, from South Elmsall.

Featherstone MP Jon Trickett met the teenager a few days before the jump to discuss his fundraising efforts.

Zach said the skydive had been ‘fantastic’.

He said: “I recently saw the great work that the hospice staff do and the help that they provide to families in very difficult times.

“I did this skydive both in memory of Paul and to fundraise for our local hospice.

“The staff are friendly, understanding and extremely supportive. Many people know what it is like to lose someone they care for and the Prince of Wales Hospice provides a much needed service at such a difficult time in people’s lives.”

Mr Trickett said: “It was a pleasure to meet Zach last week and to hear about what he intended to do and why. I am really impressed by his desire to do something to help others.” Go to www.justgiving.com/skydiveforpaul to sponsor Zach.
