Heavy rain failed to dampen the spirits at Ackworth’s annual steam rally as more than a thousand people flocked to the village last weekend.
The event, on land near the village water tower, offered displays of military vehicles, steam engines, vintage farm machinery and classic cars and motorcycles.
Farmer John Brook, who organised the event, said: “We had people from as far as France and Denmark who attended the show.
“Not as many tractors turned up because driving up was tricky because of the weather but the event was still a success.
“One of the highlights from the exhibits was a vintage American Army red cross truck.”
