And on June 11, more than 20 different bands will play at venues across the city including Warehouse 23, Theatre Royal Wakefield, Westgate Chapel and The Orangery.

Organisers have also announced that, as a result of a partnership with Wakefield College, the festival will now offer free entry to all 16 and 17-year-olds.

Festival founder Dean Freeman said: “Long Division is massively keen to make sure there is a next generation of bands and music lovers in Wakefield.

“It’s something that is hugely overlooked in our city, but thanks to some great support from Wakefield College and others, we’ve decided to just make it free entry for 16 and 17 years olds.

“That way, it is super simple for them to get involved and see some great bands in the city.”

Acts will also play sets at Top Five Studios, Neon Workshops, The Art House and The Snooty Fox.

Other bands to perform include Spills, Field Music and Brix & The Extricated.

The festival will also feature question and answer sessions with Brix Smith and John Robb.

It will come to a close on June 12, when the Post War Glamour Girls perform at St Austin’s Church.

This year’s event had been under threat because of funding cuts.

But music fans donated £6,000 to a fundraising page in just nine days to secure its future.

Tickets for Saturday, June 11 are on sale at £25. Tickets for 18 to 21-year-olds cost £15.
