A planned shake-up of NHS jobs could leave Pontefract Hospital with no security guards, a union claims.

Public sector union Unison has raised fears for the safety of staff and patients if a re-organisation of security jobs by Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust goes ahead.

Unison’s Adrian O’Malley said he had been told, in a meeting with trust management, that the hospital could lose its security cover.
