Northfield Primary School’s hall has been transformed into an Egyptian landscape with pyramids and sphinxes this week for an extravagant production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Drama club pupils aged seven to eleven at the South Kirkby school began rehearsing for the musical in September and will perform the show to hundreds of family and friends tomorrow (Wednesday, July 2) and Thursday at 7pm.

Michelle Cunnington, who has helped to produce the show, said: “The kids have been absolutely buzzing this week for their performances after all the hard work and effort they have put in.

“They have worked tirelessly to learn their lines and are amazingly gifted and talented.

“It’s the best show I have ever run; it would fit in very well at the West End!”

Joseph is played by 11-year-old Sam Kerner, while Jasmin Burton and Ellie Brown have taken on the leading roles as narrators.
