Family fun day to help little Alex get life-changing treatment
Five-year-old Alex Craven, off Glass Houghton, was born eight weeks premature and was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy at just nine months old.
In May, Alex’s family got confirmation he had been accepted for an operation in St Louis next year. It could enable him to walk independently for the first time.

And they will continue with their fundraising with a family fun day at the Castleford Panthers rugby ground on Saturday, August 6 from 11am.
Alex’s mum Sarah said: “We did it last year and the weather was lovely. It was a fantastic day and everybody enjoyed it. We hope people come down for the same again but this year will be even bigger and better with more going on.”
The day will include rugby matches, a bouncy castles, rides, barbecue, stalls and live music.
People will also be sponsored to take part in bush tucker trials.
