Talented performers from South Elmsall will dance at Disneyland.
Twenty five young people, from Sugar Kane’s School of Dance will entertain visitors in Paris in July.
The Barnsley Road school students have already started rehearsing for their 30-minute slot. The youngsters, who are aged between five and 17, will also take part in a workshop to get advice and tips from professional Disneyland dancers.
The school is receiving funding from local charity Helping Hands and All Floors in South Elmsall has donated a raffle prize. A fundraising committee has also been set up.
Claire Kane, from the school, said: “We had to send off some recordings of the children dancing and then we got some feedback. They were so excited when we found out we were going to Disneyland.
“We’re also going to take part in a workshop, which is the most important thing as a teacher. Some of the older girls would like to work at Disney as a dancer so it will be great for them to learn more about it and get tuition from the professionals.
“The tuition is expensive so we’re are very grateful to Helping Hands for their help. But we also need costumes and we have other expenses associated with the trip, which is why the committee has been set up by four parents. We would be grateful to any business who could help us out.”
