Youngsters enjoyed a fun cycling themed craft session at Hemsworth Library.

The children designed ‘king of the mountain’ cycling jerseys and created their own bikes before sticking them on a map of the Tour de France route.

The session was organised to get children interested in the Tour de France and to encourage a passion for cycling in local schoolchildren.

Gemma Jones, customer service assistant, said: “The event went really well and we had a great response. Lots of children turned up and made bikes and jerseys, which are now on display in the library.”

A similar craft event will take place at South Elmsall Library, Barnsley Road, from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday, June 7. Call 01977 723220 for more information.
