WAKEFIELD Council has announced its opening times for services over the Christmas and New Year period.
Recycling sites in Fitzwilliam and South Kirkby will be closed on December 25, 26 and January 1, 2013 and they will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve.
Bullenshaw Day Centre, on Bullenshaw Road, in Hemsworth, will be closed from Saturday, December 22 to December 26 and from December 30 to January 1, 2013.
All markets will be open as usual, excluding December 25, 26 and January 1, 2013 and there will also be an extra market day in South Elmsall on Christmas Eve.
All libraries in the area will close from December 24 to January 1, 2013.
Wakefield Town Hall and County Hall will be closed from December 22 to January 1, 2013.
But essential family services will still be provided including home care, social work and residential care.
Homeless and hostel services across the district will also remain open.
Minsthorpe Swimming Pool will be closed between December 24 and 28 and on December 31 and January 1, 2013.
Residents will also receive a calendar of dates for bin collections before Christmas outlining any changes over the festive season.
All council services and buildings return to normal opening hours on January 2, 2013.
