Carcraft has pledged to help young people in the area enter the motoring industry.

National vehicle selling chain Carcraft has pledged to help young people in the region enter the motoring industry with an apprenticeship scheme.

The company, which has a branch in Tingley, says it wants to address to the lingering problem of youth unemployment, with over a million 16-24 year-olds currently out of work across the country.

The scheme’s main focus is on helping young workers to continue their education whilst they earn money and offers job opportunities in a variety of areas including finance, vehicle service and customer service departments.

Carcraft already employs 20 apprentices across the country.

Flynn Brook, an apprentice at Carcraft Leeds, said: “At a time when many people my age are struggling to find work, this scheme allows me to earn while I learn offers a brilliant opportunity. Receiving experience in all of Carcraft’s departments is a great way to start a career and I’d certainly recommend it to anyone who was looking to enter the motoring industry.”
