Firefighters tackled a blaze at a disused pub in South Hiendley last night
Crews from South Elmsall and Hemsworth put out at small fire in the bar area at The Fox on George Street.
They were called out at 1.35am today (Saturday) and spent an hour putting out the blaze and damping down.
It is believed the fire was started maliciously.
South Elmsall firefighter Mark Studd believes deliberately set fires draw valuable resources away from real emergencies
He said: “Obviously while we doing that we are not going to be able to attend anything more serious.
“Basically don’t do it.”
