Staff and youngsters made Grove Lea Primary School’s annual community open day ‘the best yet’.
The Hemsworth school held the event at the weekend to celebrate and share its achievements and successes with parents and the local community.
The event included a barbecue and performances by the gymnastics team and school choir.
There were stalls offering plenty of things to buy including homemade bookmarks, magnets, sweetie jars, bubble makers, tea towels and fabric bags.
All of the items were designed and decorated by the children during an enterprise day in school earlier in the month.
Sally Henshall, headteacher, said: “The staff and children ensured this year’s open day was the best yet.
“The turnout was fantastic.
“I was extremely proud.”
