Kicking anti-social behaviour into touch with family fun day

Waiting for Video...

South Kirkby youngsters were climbing the walls at a summer holiday family funday last week.

The children enjoyed the climbing wall as well as face painting, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, games, sporting activities, refreshments and stalls.

Wakefield Council offered discounted dog chipping and Wakefield District Housing held a roadshow stall to get tenants’ views on their neighbourhood.

The event took place at the recreation ground on West Street.

It is an annual event organised by the South Kirkby Community Association and is aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour and bringing the community together. The association also runs regular jobs clubs, offers financial and housing advice and runs a weekly children’s club.
