Hemsworth-based Middi01 goalkeeping coaching group is going from strength to strength and has secured shirt sponsorship for the coming season with David Cussons Doors and Windows Ltd.

The goalkeeping group is run on Tuesdays from the Hemsworth football facility at Sandy Gate and aims to develop young players and help them take the first rung on the ladder to possible future professional careers.

A number of talented young goalkeepers have been signed on by Football League clubs after they have been coached at Middi01.

Middi01 Gks is run by goalkeeping coach Andy Middleton, an FA and UEFA qualified coach, with the aim to provide specialised coaching so keepers train with other keepers to maximise their potential .

Andy explained: “Over the last few years we have gained a lot of respect from local grassroots teams in and around the five towns area and work hand in hand with the keepers’ clubs .

“With links to pro clubs the group has seen a number of their goalkeepers secure trials and also signing academy forms for clubs like Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley, Chesterfield, Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Manchester City and Manchester United.

“We wish to thank David Cussons Doors and Windows for the support of the goalkeeping coaching programme.”
