Youngsters reeled in the trophies at Upton’s annual junior fishing match.
Kenny Crawford took first place, with a fish weighing a whopping 24lb 4oz, and took home the coveted top spot shield for the coming year.
Courtney Bartrop scooped second prize with a weight of 15lb and Levis Bateman took third place after catching a fish weighing 12lb 8oz.
Everyone who took part was given a prize.
The youngsters also enjoyed a barbecue and an awards ceremony after the fishing match.
The event was supported by Wakefield Council’s community chest grant, Russ Fowler, from Fishing Republic at Darfield, Middy Tackle UK, Penny’s Big Bites, of Minsthorpe Lane, South Elmsall, and AJs Sports and Teamwear, Barnsley Road, South Elmsall.
The match took place on Wednesday, August 21, at Upton Village Fishing Club.
