MYSTERY surrounds an investigation launched by education bosses at a village school.
Wakefield Council confirmed enquiries were being carried out at Ryhill Junior, Infant and Nursery school, on Chapel Street.
Sue Johnson, Wakefield Council’s service director for schools and lifelong learning, said: “The chair of governors is working with the council to conduct enquiries. As enquiries are ongoing it would not be appropriate for us or the school to comment further at this stage.”
A governor at the school, who asked not to be named, said: “Unfortunately we just don’t know anything at the moment. We are totally in the dark about what’s happened.”
The school made no comment when the Express contacted it this week.
