TWO police officers from the Express area have been honoured for their determination in arresting a well known criminal .

PC Stacey Caddick and PCSO Michelle Firth, from the South Kirkby neighbourhood police team, were recognised at an awards ceremony organised by Wakefield District Police on Wednesday, April 27.

The ceremony - held at the force’s Training and Development Centre at Bishopgarth, Wakefield - was aimed at recognising officers’ bravery, hard work and determination.

Forty-seven awards were handed out to police officers, members of police staff and members of the public.

Chief Supt Marc Callaghan, Wakefield District Police Divisional Commander, said: “I am immensely proud to recognise the hard work and bravery of officers and police staff at Wakefield District Police as well as members of the public who have stepped in to help us.

“These awards highlight the efforts they go to each and every day to deliver a service that both the force and our local communities can be proud of.”
