A HEMSWORTH pensioner died after a car smash in Lincolnshire.
Carl Rayner, of Alpine View, Hemsworth, was pronounced dead on Sunday after his silver Vauxhall Meriva was involved in a collision with a beige Vauxhall Zafira in Lincolnshire.
The incident took place at around 4.30pm on the A17 Sutterton roundabout. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
The 78-year-old widower was thought to have been travelling back from a getaway at Great Yarmouth.
The driver of the Zafira, a 21-year-old man from Spalding, South Lincolnshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been granted bail until November 21, pending further enquiries.
