A FLOOD warning has been issued for the Hemsworth area.
The Environment Agency has warned that water levels of the Ea Beck and the River Skell could rise and cause flooding today (Friday) from Hemsworth through to Thorpe in Balne.
It warned that an “intense band of rain” will fall across the area, with the majority expected between 6am and 6pm.
Totals of between 40mm and 60mm of rain is forecasted to fall.
The warning came at around 8.30pm yesterday and was updated at around 3.30am this morning.
The Met Office has also issued an amber warning of severe weather for the Yorkshire and Humber area today and tomorrow.
