THOUSANDS of people flocked to Hemsworth Water Park on Monday for the annual bonfire and fireworks display.
More than 2,500 people braved the cold to enjoy the fireworks and fun.
Town clerk Tina Pattinson said: “It was absolutely fantastic. It was one of the best turnouts we’ve had.
“It’s a superb setting to watch fireworks with the lake up there and I am over the moon with how it went.
“I’ve already had people contact me and say how much they enjoyed it.”
Meanwhile, fireworks are set to light up the sky in South Elmsall on Saturday night (November 10).
The big display takes place on Minsthorpe Swimming Pool playing fields, Ash Grove, from around 6pm with the fireworks display is at 6.30pm.
