Pharmacy opening times for Bank Holiday Monday

Pharmacy opening times for Bank Holiday Monday have been announced by NHS bosses.

People are also being reminded to stock up on medicines for when GP surgeries are closed on May 29.

Lloyd’s Pharmacy at Sainsbury’s in Wakefield’s Trinity Walk shopping centre will be open from 9am-7pm on Monday.

Asda, on Asdale Road, Wakefield, will be open from 9am-6pm.

Exel Chemist, on High Street, Normanton, will be open from 9am-1pm.

Boots, on Beastfair, Pontefract, will be open from 10am-4pm.

Tesco, on Market Street, Hemsworth, will be open from 9am-6pm.

Asda, Leeds Road, Glass Houghton, will be open from 9am-6pm.

Paul Twomey, medical director for NHS England Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “It is vital that those with long term conditions or who have regular medication make sure they have their prescriptions so they do not run out over the weekend.

“Also if you need advice over the weekend your local pharmacy can help you with more than you might think.

“Pharmacists offer expert, confidential advice and treatment for many minor health problems.”
